We have many athletic fields, courts, and ranges, hiking and running trails, two sandy beaches with swimming areas, three streams for exploring and nature study and two campfire circles. We have over 40 buildings, including the Nature Lodge, Woodshop, Library, Mess Hall, Junior Lodge and the Senior Lodge.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: We offer instruction and opportunities from beginner through advanced levels in four program areas, sports, nature, music/art/drama, and wilderness trips. Camp Pemigewassett is an all-around camp and is committed equally to excellence in our four program areas. Since 1908, Camp Pemigewassett’s abiding mission has been to inspire and support boys aged 8 to 15 as they find their own distinctive paths in becoming self-reliant, caring, and successful young men with a passion for all that they do.

We believe that Camp Pemigewassett is the oldest summer camp for boys in the country under the same continuous family ownership and management. Founded in 1908 by Edgar and Edwin Fauver and Dudley Reed, Pemi has thrived for well over a century through the vision and commitment of four generations of Fauvers and Reeds.

Pemi recruits staff members who are dedicated to the development of the whole camper, and we train them carefully with an eye to the most informed thinking on the social, physical, and emotional well-being of boys. Our staff’s enhanced leadership, mentorship, and communication skills serve our campers and parents well and become vital traits for staff to carry into future roles and relationships.

Campers of differing backgrounds from all over the world live simply in small and inclusive cabin groups. These close-knit camper families meld with the larger Pemi community in ways that foster key civic values, such as respect for others, integrity, responsibility, sustainability, and generosity of spirit. Our varied program teaches and nurtures practical skills while it encourages the self-challenge, creativity, and resilience that develop a boy’s self-confidence. From the beginning, Pemi’s culture has been one of good humor and joy.

Camp Pemigewassett is an accredited member of the American Camping Association.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Pemi's 16s Program is a 3.5-week wilderness skills and leadership program that provides a challenging and rewarding experience for older campers.

Participants who wish to extend their leadership training are invited to apply for an optional Counselor Apprentice Program held at Camp Pemigewassett, Wentworth, NH.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Camp Pemigewassett’s hope is that all boys who wish to attend camp will be able to. We care deeply about providing the benefits of a summer at Pemi to as many families as possible. In an effort to make camp available to every camper who is interested, we offer financial aid to those who apply and qualify for financial support.

FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): Boys aged 8-15 may enroll for full session (7 weeks), first session (3 weeks), or second session (4 weeks). First and Second Sessions provide a solid camp experience and also include events and opportunities that are unique to each “half.”

Our camps and programs are offered locally throughout over 500 communities. The format includes traditional week-long summer day camps and year-round after-school programs that range from 45 minutes to 6 hours in duration, per day. OTHER CAMP INFO: Skyhawks Sports Camps are SAFETY FOCUSED!

At Skyhawks we go the extra mile to focus on safety, and we have a long-standing proven safety track record and processes to prove it. For example, all Skyhawks Sports camps start and end with our unique safety process called "Gate System and Parking Lot Duty." This process is where coaches come and greet both parents and campers in the parking lot when parents pull up to drop off their children.

Our staff guide the kids onto the field/court and out of harm's way by funneling them into our gate system. Eye contact is maintained from each one of our staff members until the kids make it onto the field/court where they are grouped by age. This efficient process ensures safety. Additionally, it develops a level of trust between parent, coach, and child that ultimately leads to a fun and skill-focused camp for youth.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Greetings and welcome to Camp Wicosuta! Wicosuta is a traditional four-week sleepaway camp for girls in Hebron, New Hampshire. At Camp Wicosuta, girls develop confidence and self-esteem by learning and developing new skills, making new friends, and having the time of their lives!

ONE OF THE ORIGINAL SLEEPAWAY CAMPS: Camp Wicosuta was founded in 1920 by Anna Rothman, one of the pioneers of sleepaway camps for girls. Mrs. Rothman knew that by getting young women out of urban areas and into the natural environment surrounded by caring role models and energetic friends, they would learn many of the lessons needed for them to thrive in the world around them.

THE "3 C'S": CONFIDENCE, COMPETENCE & COMMUNITY: Camp Wicosuta teaches young girls skills that build self-confidence and self-esteem. At Wico, our goal is for every child to walk away feeling confident in herself and competent in her ability in any of a number of areas. We teach these lessons in a physically and emotionally safe community in which our campers are challenged to move past their self-set limits.

ELECTIVE SCHEDULE: The elective schedule encourages decision-making and independence, and most importantly, creates a culture where all of our girls participate. Girls choose the activities they like, so they can't wait to get started! Wico is filled with happy, active girls! While we want our youngest campers to get a taste of everything we offer, even they get to choose one elective period a day as they start to develop personal tastes and interests. WICO STAFF: Our staff sets us apart. Highly skilled, well-trained and enthusiastic, we have a high percentage of returning staff each year.

Additionally, we look for new staff with strong backgrounds/interest in working with children and in their activity area. We have a series of staff orientations to train counselors prior to the campers' arrival and continue training throughout the summer.

CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:
Golf, Soccer, Swimming, Tennis, Horses/Equestrian, Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Weightloss, Waterfront/Aquatics, Baseball, Gymnastics, Dance, Theater, Musical Theater, Music/Band, Fine Arts/Crafts, Video/Filmmaking/Photography, Adventure, Wilderness/Nature, Academics, and more.

CAMP LOCATION: 2 hours North of Boston, and 4 hours from NYC, on 230 beautiful acres of forest and a private 80-acre lake.

CAMP FACILITIES: While we believe that it’s the people who define a camp, we think our outstanding facilities go a long way in making Camps Kenwood and Evergreen the extraordinary place that it is. We have 230 acres of forest and fields, overlooking a half-mile stretch of private lake and beaches in New Hampshire.

Kenwood and Evergreen offer unique and comfortable living communities. New and returning campers are mixed among their age groups to ensure that old friendships are rekindled and new ones are made.

Each age group of Evergreen girls lives in their own lodge, which has multiple sleeping cabins linked by a spacious living room. Our girls tell us that lodge living is one of the most special aspects of life at Evergreen. The communal structure of our lodges gives every girl the opportunity to develop a real relationship with every other person in their group, while helping to prevent the development of cliques.

Our lodges offer many of the comforts of home and are a peaceful retreat for our girls to return to after a full day of activities. Live-in counselors offer guidance, advice, and a supportive adult presence that many of our campers find comforting and essential to a healthy and fun life at camp. Whether they are looking to connect with friends in the living room or take some time to relax in their bunk, we offer each girl the ability to have their individualized needs met.

Kenwood Bunks

In Kenwood, the bunks for each age group are clustered together around a common outdoor area for running, ping pong or having a quiet conversation with a new best friend. Our general counselors live in the same shared space with our campers so they can be fully involved in the daily lives of each and every boy. Our spacious bunks and large grassy areas give our Kenwood boys both indoor and outdoor places to make strong social connections.

Four soccer fields (including a brand new one in 2014!), three baseball diamonds, and 11 clay tennis courts are located throughout our campus. Campers receive quality instruction at every team and individual sports activity area from our nurturing and supportive staff. Our indoor gymnasium is located in the heart of our grounds, next to one of our two beach volleyball courts. Because our gym is so large, we are able to keep all campers active, even during those summer thunderstorms. We round out our athletics program with a basketball court available for a variety of team sports.

Each day we offer the following sports with quality instruction:

Baseball & Softball
Tennis
Soccer
Lacrosse
Basketball
Street Hockey
Volleyball
Gaga
Gymnastics

Our recently renovated archery range is one of our most popular program areas for campers of all ages. Children learn that success at archery comes not from running faster or being stronger, but from learning to concentrate and make careful adjustments to your form. We have both a traditional archery range and our brand new 3-D experience that gives campers the opportunity to take aim at foam rubber dinosaurs and mythological animals.

Our state-of-the-art challenge course features both high and low ropes course elements, with names such as the Giants Ladder, Burma Bridge, Pamper Pole, Nitro Crossing, and our Zip Line. For campers interested in a different sort of challenge, we also have a 40-foot-tall real granite rock climbing wall. Individualized activities combine with team athletics to create a perfectly balanced experience.

Twice daily, campers travel with their age group to the waterfront. In the mornings, campers participate in General Swim (also called “G-Swim”), having the opportunity to dive off the diving board, pal around on a surfboard, swim laps, shoot down on our 27-foot-tall waterslide, take out a boat, fish, build sand castles or just relax on one of our two beautiful beaches.

For campers looking for a little more adventure to their “G-Swim,” our talented ski instructors also teach waterskiing, tubing, and knee & wake boarding. A variety of available tools make these activities available to everyone from children who are trying it for their first time to seasoned veterans.

Each weekday afternoon campers participate in Red Cross-certified swim instruction. Campers learn skills as varied as perfecting a stroke, the proper way to dive, and becoming more comfortable in the water.

Once campers graduate beyond the traditional swim levels they have the opportunity to become Red Cross Certified Lifeguards themselves. Camps Kenwood and Evergreen also offer boating and canoeing instruction, which helps campers prepare for the overnight canoe trip that each age group participates in. This past summer campers enjoyed learning on our newly-created boating obstacle course. The adventure continues off campus as campers of every age have the opportunity to camp out overnight and climb a mountain or canoe to an island.

Four summers ago, we opened the doors of our brand new, 500-seat theater pavilion. Each week our community joins together to watch and cheer a theater production put on by a different age group of campers. Our theater is also where we sing along with visiting performers, watch movies, and gather each Friday for a short Shabbat service.

Visual arts are a major aspect of the Kenwood and Evergreen program. We offer instruction in digital photography, ceramics, arts & crafts, woodworking and movie making. Recently opened studios offer plenty of space for photography, movie making, and ceramic – where we now have five potters wheels and almost 400 clay molds.

This past summer, our campers participated in the Fifth Annual Kenwood & Evergreen Film Festival. Campers made more than 50 short films, with genres ranging from from comedies to action films to documentaries. Our movie making studio now includes high-definition video cameras, computers for editing, and a green screen so that campers can dream even bigger, creating short films that include complex special effects.

To see some of the films made by our campers this summer please click here.

Music brings a rich texture to life and is essential for creativity. In our amplified and acoustic music building, campers can try playing an instrument for the first time or perfect prior experience. Instruments like acoustic and electric guitars, drums, keyboards and of course, amplifiers, help anyone discover their own unique sound. Campers can take a lesson with our music instructors, learn a new song, form a rock band or even record a song to put on their iPod.

Our brand new dining hall boasts gorgeous views of our beautiful lake. Three times a day the entire Kenwood and Evergreen community sits down together for a well-cooked meal, along with lots of singing and cheering.

Our camp kitchen is peanut-free, tree nut-free, and sesame-free, so every camper can enjoy a meal without stress. The kitchen staff produces delicious and nutritious meals (including gluten-free), keeps the salad bars stocked with fresh fruit and vegetables, and makes us homemade cakes when someone has a birthday. Visit our Food Allergy section for more information on the accommodations that can be made for your child.

Before breakfast and dinner, all campers and staff gather in the assembly area adjacent to the dining hall. As one big family we share in the triumphs of each age group and salute notable individual achievements – and, of course, sing to any birthday boy or girl.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: We see ourselves as an extension of the at-home support provided by our partner families. And while the skills we hone – and the ways we do so – are a bit different than what’s learned at home, Kenwood and Evergreen’s community is a great complement to the life lessons our parents pass along to their children. We’re very intentional about creating opportunities for our campers to practice certain competencies, which we call life skills. Whether they realize it or not, we help every camper to develop great confidence and independence while they are at camp. Because every camper is an essentially member of our camp community, and they can’t but feel the love and support around them, we are consistently told that our campers discover the best version of themselves.

We are as committed to children and their growth as any institution or program out there, and our community is the primary way we support our campers in this goal. Of course, we wouldn’t be able to create such a community if we didn’t have a blast every day at camp!

Our intentional community, guided by our directors and supported by our staff, is committed to providing a transformative summer experience, where campers develop and strengthen communication, collaboration, leadership, creativity, and critical thinking skills. These are the skills our kids need most as they grow.

At Kenwood and Evergreen, we have the spirit of a traditional camp – with a focus on activities, adventures, and fun – to teach in ways that encourage deeper learning. Our intentional community, guided by our directors and supported by our staff, is designed to create a transformative summer experience for every child.

Campers develop and strengthen effective communication skills, collaboration, positive leadership, creativity, and critical thinking skills through engaging and fun traditional camp activities and creative programs, while living in a caring and supportive community that nurtures social and emotional learning. We help to prepare our campers to be tomorrow’s global citizens and caring leaders.

At Kenwood and Evergreen our incredible staff use as many of the million moments of the summer as possible to build and strengthen this mindset in our campers. Come learn more about how Kenwood and Evergreen is redefining summer enrichment!

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: What can parents expect of Kingswood? Visitors to Kingswood are immediately struck by the low-key, friendly atmosphere of our camp community. Every summer we work hard to produce that esprit de corps where every boy feels he is an integral member of the group. It all starts with young men and boys who come from homes that possess solid core values and morals. Our families expect Kingswood to provide a happy and safe environment, and to be a place which complements their efforts to instill firm distinctions between right and wrong in their children. It is our mission to be a completely wholesome place, at all times, and without exception.

Kingswood is both owned and directed by the Wipfler family of Bethesda, Maryland. Bob and Alice started running the operation in 1985. The oldest of their three children, Rob, moved to New Hampshire in 2013 to be in position to oversee camp operations year-round, along with his energetic wife, Becky. Another son, Mike, teaches school when not running the camp's daily program during the summer months. Daughter Sara has developed a strong interest in the nature and photography component of Kingswood's program. All Wipflers bleed Kingswood blue! The Wipflers have long known that lots of extra help at the top end is needed, and feel strongly that camps belong in the hands of educators. People who have elected to dedicate their careers to children are best equipped to recognize the many signals kids give as indicators of their sense of well- being.

We call our regular staff gatherings "faculty meetings" where the first agenda topic always is "boys of concern." Youngsters do not slip through the cracks at Kingswood, and we owe much of our success to our top leaders, who help show younger staff how to look at boys through the eyes of professional educators.

A Typical Day: 7:30 reveille- music over the PA system 8:00 breakfast 8:45 clean up 9:30 team sport instruction- by age 10:30 waterfront instruction- by age 11:30 individual activity instruction- by age 12:30 supervised free time 12:45 lunch 2:00 rest hour 3:00 afternoon choice (called "A-Block")- team sports (practices and intercamp games), nature (projects and day trips), creative games (enormous variety) 4:30 supervised free time (called "B-Block"), waterfront (lifeguards on duty), unscheduled time (read, shower, play catch), hang out (be with friends) 6:00 dinner 6:45 free activity (called "Sponsorships") 8:30 all-camp special activity 9:30 cabin activities, target time for lights out for younger boys 10:00 target time for lights out for older boys How is the program scheduling done? The most formal time of the day is the morning instructional time block.

Boys sign up weekly for three daily one-hour "clinics," with several choices available to them for each block. Campers pick from each of three categories: waterfront, team sports and individual activities. Boys are grouped by age in clinics, but counselors offer varied lesson plans depending on the proficiency levels within the group- a major asset in a smaller community. From lunchtime onward, campers are offered a variety of activities which change daily with boys almost always getting their first choice.

The weather, boys' requests, and the directors' sense of balance dictate each day's options. Once they select, boys must attend and we make sure of that! A host of afternoon and evening activities is listed in the camper guidebook. The flexible approaches we take in programming are very popular with campers and counselors alike and are another area where Kingswood stands apart from many other camps.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Becoming a Kingswood counselor is a goal that some boys have from their early days as junior campers. Others come upon this notion later. Having finished sophomore year in high school, they are now mature enough to consider the transition from camper to counselor. The CITs live in The Barn and attend meetings similar to counselor training sessions. The first question posed to CITs is "What does it take to be a good Kingswood counselor?" CITs are given the opportunity to learn from hands-on, supervised experiences in leading clinics and assisting in the camper cabins. The CIT program does more than produce well-trained counselors; it also builds skills that will help young men be successful as they enter college and beyond.

OTHER CAMP INFO: What sorts of trips does the camp take? Most of our trips are designed to take advantage of the lakes and mountains in this beautiful region of America. We feel strongly that children need to establish a connection to nature. Hiking, canoeing, fishing and swimming day trips, and 2-3 day excursions make up the bulk of our offerings. As always, these trips are available to campers as choices, but, admittedly, they are heavily promoted. Most boys go on several trips during a typical stay. Recreational trips, too, are regular offerings. The Fourth of July parade and fireworks, a New England town fair, and the water slide amusement park are examples of special trips taken annually. All campers get to participate.

Our staff is primarily college students, graduates, faculty and former Birch Hill campers. Together we are a diverse group of mature, dignified role models coming from both the United States and abroad. Despite our different backgrounds, as camp counselors and staff there is a common thread that connects us all and brings us together in this magical place that we feel is our home away from home. We love teaching and having fun while maintaining a safe environment that facilitates growth for our campers.

At the beginning of each summer our counselors attend a ten day long, comprehensive training course that speaks our values as an organization. Because our staff are hired based on competency in an activity area, this orientation is focused on addressing overarching concepts around making sure each and every camper feels comfortable and at home here at Birch Hill. We strive to hire staff members who have a cheerful disposition and embody the Birch Hill spirit. We bring you the best people for the job.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: CIT program offered to previous campers that are 16 years old during their session. Our goal for the Counselor in Training (CIT) program is to provide an enjoyable and safe summer experience appropriate for older children. The experience will include leadership training and the opportunity to assume some daily responsibilities at Birch Hill, along with the fun and excitement that accompany the rest of our summer program. It is our hope that the CIT campers will begin to develop some of the skills that will allow them to assume additional leadership positions in the future, perhaps as counselors at Birch Hill once they have had one year of college or life experience after high school. For one activity period each day the CITs will work together in their own group under the supervision of Birch Hill staff members. They will use this time to do team building, to learn how to help with the various camp games, activities, and responsibilities.

By the end of the session CITs choose a counselor at Birch Hill they would like to "shadow" and assist them during their activities, and in the cabin. In addition to the CIT Class the primary responsibility of the CITs will be to assist the directors and the staff of Birch Hill. A typical day may involve helping counselors to run events, aiding in the set up and clean up of camp activities. In addition, we will provide opportunities for Leadership/CIT participants to enjoy the richness of the activities and events that our camp has to offer. All CITs receive community service hours and a college recommendation at your request.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Camp Walt Whitman summer program offers campers an opportunity to learn new skills, to develop confidence, and explore new passions all while having loads of fun.

In our warm and supportive environment, children learn that they can enjoy an activity no matter their skill level or previous experience.

We pride ourselves on providing high quality instruction in a great atmospher that simply allows children to thrive and have fun!

We provide a tremendous variety of activities - over 50 different choices among land sports, water sports, outdoor adventure, and the arts.

Our program is balanced to allow our summer campers to deepen close friendships by sharing three scheduled cabin activities each day while also exploring their own individual interests through our extensive range of electives.

These electives include a daily choice as well as a week long elective period called SIGs (Special Interest Groups) which function as mini-specialty sports camps.

Sports at Walt Whitman:
From baseball and basketball to hockey and lacrosse; from softball and gymnastics to flag football and soccer athletics are scheduled regularly for every camper in every cabin. Whether a beginner or an advanced player, each child receives expert instruction in all sports, which increases their ability to play and their sheer enjoyment of the game.

Collegiate Athletes and Coaches:
Our coaches, most of whom are current or former collegiate athletes and coaches, place their emphasis on building strong skills, having fun, sharing their passion for their sport, and teaching our campers that no matter what their ability level they can enjoy participating in the activity.

Our most advanced athletes will choose in-depth athletic clinics during their elective time and their week-long specialty classes. Inter-camp sports competitions against nearby camps provide wonderful opportunities for challenge and competition in a fun environment.

Professional Tennis Instruction:
Our experienced tennis staff is led by Dave Porter. Dave is a USPTA National Past President and is the current Chair of the Player Development Council. He is the longtime Head Coach of the BYU Hawaii men's and women's tennis teams, where he has won a combined 10 Division II NCAA championships, as well as being named Collegiate Coach of the Year 5 times. In 2012 Dave was named as the USPTA Tennis Professional of the Year.

Dave oversees a staff that offers all of our summer camp kids excellent, regularly scheduled instruction for all levels on our 11 clay tennis courts.

Campers with a passion for tennis can also choose tennis for their daily elective and for their week-long specialty.

Exciting in-camp ladder play and tournaments complement a very active intercamp schedule.

Intensive Tennis Program:
If advancement in tennis is a priority, campers may choose to participate in our Intensive Tennis Program, which provides campers with two additional private lessons each week

Swim Instruction:
On the Waterfront, our goals are to encourage children to enjoy the water and learn to swim using the proper techniques and standards of the American Red Cross.

Certified Water Safety Instructors provide group and individual instruction for beginners up to the most advanced swimmers. With small class sizes, our campers can receive high quality instruction in a fun environment.

We utilize our heated pool for our instruction which enables our campers to stay warm during the 50 minute swim class.

Boating Instruction:
Under the direction of expert instructors, our emphasis is on proper technique, proper safety practices, and plenty of simple FUN! Our exciting boating program includes:
Water-skiing ,Windsurfing, Sailing, Wake boarding, Canoeing, Paddle boarding, Kayaking

Outdoor Adventure:
Majestic forests and the historic White Mountains surround our 300 acre campus where we encourage the appreciation and enjoyment of nature.

Our Outdoor Adventure Program is unique in the world of camping today and provides campers with experiences they can't get anywhere else. These are experiences they remember for a lifetime.

Participation in these outdoor activities enable children to develop confidence, leadership skills, and a spirit of adventure. In awe-inspiring locations, our campers develop a sense of responsibility for all that surrounds them.

Certified professional staff help campers learn to set goals for themselves, whether attempting the Climbing Wall, working together on the Low or High Ropes Courses, pitching a tent on an overnight camping trip, challenging the rapids while White Water Rafting or exploring mountain trails on a hike.

Weekly day trips are scheduled for every group. Our campers challenge themselves on these adventures while also enjoying the simple pleasures of eating s'mores and chatting around the campfire.

Our older campers have the opportunity to participate in 3 and 5 day backpacking adventures, biking trips, and canoeing expeditions. In addition, these campers enjoy week-long trips to the Maine seacoast, Acadia National Park, Montreal, and Quebec City.

The Arts:
A broad spectrum of arts programs provides many outlets for campers' creative interests and talents.

Professional artists and teachers work with children in separate, well-equipped studios for ceramics, woodworking and crafts. The arts programs at CWW are designed for all ages and ability levels. Enjoyment of, and exposure to, the arts are our goals.

Studios buzz with excitement as campers saw and sand the pieces of a chess set, throw the perfect pot on the pottery wheel, or make t-shirts in our crafts studio.

Our end of summer Art Show displays the impressive work of our campers from all three studios and is

OTHER CAMP INFO: Camp Walt Whitman is fortunate to attract particularly nice kids, down-to-earth families, and a strong, experienced, and motivated staff. Our campers are encouraged to be active participants, willing to stretch themselves to try new things and overcome challenges.

Camp Walt Whitman is a community that encourages friendship, leadership, responsibility, and teamwork. Herein lies the fundamental mission of Walt Whitman as we help campers discover their own unique potential while understanding what it means to be part of a bigger community.

Camp Walt Whitman is a place where kids have fun and everyone is open to new ideas and experiences. Developing friendships is easy. The focal point of the Walt Whitman experience is the Cabin Group, which forms a camper's summer family. Not only do campers live together in their cabin, but they also participate as a group in many of their activities throughout the day.

Through living and learning together, campers really get to know and like one another. They learn how to accommodate and respect each other's differences and, in the process, become good friends.

As a result, campers frequently visit each other throughout the year and remain friends long after the summer's end. Making lifelong friendships is a priceless part of your child's summers at Walt Whitman.

Three staff members live in each cabin. The two cabin counselors stay with the group all day; the third, an activity specialist, is assigned to teach one of our programs. The result is a strong, cohesive group of children, supervised by adults who know them well and can appropriately encourage and motivate while providing guidance and fun!
